We always put a lot of intention into our Holiday Blend. The goal is to create something unique from years past - and delicious in its own right - from the best fresh crop coffees available. Four years ago our Holiday Blend was one of the best received of any offering we've ever put out there, scoring a 95 point review on Coffee Review. We followed that up the next two years with likewise impressive reviews, scoring a 93 on each of those.
This year's blend is a good bit different than anything we've done in the past. The blend is comprised of two coffees in equal measure, both very unique from each other. On the one hand we have a washed coffee, the Rwanda Nyamasheke (blackcurrant, berry, plum) and the other a natural process coffee, Myanmar Myin Dwin (citrus, herbal tones, candied tropical fruit, lively lime acidity, dense syrupy body). In our ten years we've brought in many a Rwanda (though never for a Holiday Blend), but this is our first ever coffee from Myanmar.
Here we now have a coffee that has balance and brightness and yet remains approachable, and is well suited for both drip and/or espresso throughout the Holidays.
Tasting notes for this 50-50 Rwanda-Myanmar blend are as follows:
A 50% Rwanda, 50% Myanmar (natural) blend inspired by the Holidays! Syrupy chocolate, candied plum, blackcurrant, & sweet lime.
